DETAILS 👇🏽 I found this vintage china cabinet (armoire?) at an estate sale in my neighborhood for $75. They’re also on Facebook Marketplace in my area all the time. I used around $90 in supplies and sold it for under asking price at $900 because I needed the space (at the time, I had two identical cabinets side-by-side in my small living room). The best part was that I was able to show photos to the original owner, who loved the update. Not to mention, the buyer was a total sweetheart! It was a win all around. Steps 1. Strip old finish 2. Sand with 80 grit then 220 3. Bleach to lighten 4. Lightly sand with 220 grit. 5. Tan wash (1:4 paint/water) with Latte by Sherwin Williams. Paint on, wipe off with a lint-free rag. Repeat if desired. 6. Stain wash with antique pine wood stain to add dimension. Paint on and then wipe it off. Repeat until you like the look. 7. Rub cerusing wax into the wood with a rag (just tiny amounts). Wait 30 minutes and buff with steel wool. 8. Drill hardware holes. Add new hardware. 9. Remove glass from doors and add cane webbing. Cover with trim.
