@traveltomtom: The Skeleton Tribe of Papua New Guinea lives in the heart of the Chimbu region not too far from Mount Hagen. Their significant and distinctive cultural practice is their marvelous body painting. The Skeleton Tribe is renowned to adorn their bodies like skeletons during ceremonial occasions and this has to do with a legend this tribe believes in. I will tap more into it in the next posts about these unique people! 🙌🏽 Their beliefs are deeply rooted in nature and ancestral spirits as well as the interconnectedness of all living things. They celebrate a variety of festivals throughout the year, each marked by colorful festivities and communal gatherings. When I visited Papua New Guinea they performed for us, it was not an official ceremony we attended.
