@adhdwithjennafree: The ADHD brain really messes with us making life feel harder than it is! Reminder: most of that stuff on your to do list does not need to get done right now. #adhd #adhdtiktok #adhdacceptance #adhdproblems #adhdtherapy #adhdcoach #adhdhumor #adhdtips #therapyforadhd
Personally it’s rooted in the fear of forgetting anything I’m not currently doing. I can’t trust I’ll remember later, so I have to think about it now.

the "it's never gonna end" part is honestly such a depressive consuming thought that it literally haunts me.

I think it’s the “too many steps” thing…I see all the list of steps that make up life and it overwhelms me. The same as the steps to do laundry lol

My to-do's are mainly me trying to organize, prioritize, and plan the stuff that I'm probably never going to get around to actually doing. 🤣

Question? I see ADHD posts, I relate to some, others I don't. (relate to this one for sure) Is ADHD a trauma response (learned) or a condition? 🤔

I also think it's because we can't have habits. If we don't have to think about what we're doing + we do it automatically, it isn't cause for stress.

I think also what you count as “to do” Is different for neurotypicals. For example brushing my teeth is on my to do list

Combine it with my autism and everything needs to be small steps manually done - including breathing, eating, functioning in general.

I'm either in all on or all off mode, both caused by anxieties of the tasks. One moment the thoughts paralyze me, and next I'll work 5 hrs straight

For me, unless I have a deadline, or something important that I could “miss” but has a humongous consequence, I won’t do it. There is no doing things “ahead of schedule” for me, ahead of schedule does not exist. I need to be on the cusp of not making my deadline and the consequence has to be that I’m going to lose my job….or else I won’t even start. For every day tasks, taking the chore to be “good enough” is good enough. Like I’ll vacuum the floor, but I’ll leave the vacuum in the middle of the living room for weeks, almost to the point of feeling like that’s where it belongs. It’s bad. So bad.
