There are moments in life that gently remind you of how blessed you are—and today was one of them. This morning, my sweet friend Lindsey stopped by with the most thoughtful surprise for Bailey—a basket full of toys and treats, wrapped with care and topped with a paw print. But it wasn’t just the gift that touched me—it was the love behind it. I met Lindsey through this industry about five years ago, and she’s been a constant light ever since. She’s the kind of friend who shows up, encourages without asking, and lives her life with grace, strength, and a deep-rooted faith I truly admire. She’s not just a cheerleader—she’s someone I look up to as a wife, a mother, a businesswoman, and a woman of God. Bringing a service dog into your life is a big transition. It changes routines, requires constant learning, and comes with a level of vulnerability that’s hard to explain. Bailey is not just a dog—she’s a visible part of my disability, and that alone can invite judgment or misunderstanding. Truthfully, the transition hasn’t been without its bumps. There’s been a little bit of kickback along the way—nothing I feel the need to detail—but enough to remind me that not everyone is going to understand. And that’s okay. Because the vast, vast majority of people have embraced Bailey and me with open arms—and those are the people who truly matter. From coworkers who now proudly call themselves “Auntie” or “Uncle” to Bailey, to our sweet residents who light up every time she walks in the room, to an entire University of Texas girls’ softball team who visited yesterday and instantly fell in love with her—the support has been incredible. It’s been humbling. Emotional. A big learning curve—for both of us. But through it all, I’ve felt surrounded by grace and encouragement. And today, as I watched Lindsey love on Bailey and pour kindness into our world like she always does, I was reminded of how lucky I am to have people like her in my corner. We’re figuring this out—one day, one step, one paw at a time.🐾♥️🐾 #TikTok #fyp #foryou #dogsoftiktok #labsoftiktok #servicedog #workingdog #firstresponders #creator
