Bought a 99 7.3 and the engine kept quitting on me. Dropped the engine to find the K&N filter sucked so much dirt it washed out cylinder 5! Never will I use K&N filters.

Fair warning don’t buy a K&N cold air intake for a 6.7 power stroke. Filter would continuously fall off.

that looks like their dry cotton replaceable filter, doesn't look like it's ever had oil, always leaves a red tint

If you’re gonna buy a cold air intake better to buy 2 filters. Keep one clean and oiled and just rotate them out.

From what I’ve read most cold air intakes don’t really improve engine performance. Perhaps because they aren’t installed right.

um sorry the cold air is still arriving to the filter IF the KnN housing is added. cold air is coming in from fender with hood closed
