I’ll never forget a nightmare film they showed us in middle shape about kudzu. There was a Timelapse of it swallowing a car. Made an impression on me!

I will say as a southerner that when Kudzu blooms it smells AMAZING. Almost a sweet fruity smell to the flowers.

Lived in GA for a long time & when I was growing up I thought the kudzu “forests” were old dinosaurs covered in kudzu … still try to find shapes in them when I visit 💕

The Japanese word is actually くず, kuzu, but old-style transliteration to Roman letters used “dzu” instead of “zu,” so it’s sort of an archaic form.
