My opinion is that they need a mix of both. Accuracy may be improving but fluency has slowed down a lot.

💜Both have value and it isn’t necessarily harmful. They can be taught that these are just pattern books and kids can practice reading behaviours.

Do you recommend the hi lo books or the regular decodable books? Also, do you prefer fiction or non-fiction? The Beanstalk books are not a combination.
