you can actually just use hot water and let it sit for 24 hrs. Boiling the water diminishes the vitamins in the flaxseed. It works with chia seeds too

You don’t need to bring it to a boil, just put even flax seed to water in a container and sit over night and you will have the gel! Then put on face
