@hannahsl0an: we were persuaded at costco to by lomi, a “smart waste kitchen composter”. apparently in 2024, it will be illegal in los angeles to throw food waste out in the black trash bin. this machine turns food scraps into soil that you can put in your plants or directly into the green bin. very cool!! #lomi #compost #lomiclassic #Sustainability

I’ve had a Lomi for 2.5 years. I agree it’s greenwashing but now we have solar panels so I feel a little better about it. Not worth it though!

“Now I can compost it or put it in the green bin” isn’t that the options before doing this, too???

How s this eco friendly? How much energy went into designing and making the machine. Won’t it biodegrade with no help?

It’s not really soil… it’s just like little carbon bits with a soil feel

You’re in LA - You can just put your food scraps in the green bin without the $299 and electricity use.
