@learn.2.run: Tennis 🎾 Necklace 🏆 Feedback is King Feedback is crucial for learning new skills. It provides valuable information that can be used to inform us of successful execution. Feedback can come in different forms (verbal, auditory, tactile, visual, etc) and instances (immediate, delayed, etc). It can vary from person to person as to which type of feedback is most effective. 🔑 Feedback must be taken away for full skill acquisition to take place as to not become reliant. 🎾 The tennis ball necklace (TBN) can provide you with immediate tactile & auditory feedback. 🎾If you are braking (overstriding) the ball will continue to move forward as you slow down. The result is the ball will come back and hit you in the belly (tactile) with loud sound. 🎾If you are bounding (excessive vertical movement above your standing height) the ball will go up and down loudly. The feedback can also be used as a teaching strategy. “I want you to run is such a way that minimizes the movement & sound of the 🎾” 🏁 Lastly, mimic the mechanics. Run with the same technique without the 🎾 necklace. Toggling back and forth between feedback ON & OFF. Tomorrow I’m working on researching the effects of the 🎾 necklace with my alma mater @udaytondpt I have a free & paid online course available.
