@jeawok_media: Did you know: Fred Hampton’s grave was shot at so much, his successors bullet-proofed him! Hampton came to prominence in his late teens and early 20s in Chicago as deputy chairman of the national Black Panther Party. As a progressive African American, he is remembered for organizing and unifying many anti-racist and anti-classist Chicago groups. A self-proclaimed Marxist-Leninist, Hampton considered facism society’s greatest threat. Hampton was assassinated in a raid on his apartment by the Cook County State Attorney’s Office. Cops shot into his apartment over 100 times, whereas occupants inside only fired back once. It was later learned Hampton’s death was part of the FBI’s illegal COINTELPRO program, aimed at disrupting who they considered “radicals.” These stories are unfortunately too commonplace.
