That’s why you rotate bailing a field for every other year to every other two years

Imo if you’re gonna take stalks off you should replace it with manure

Vs if you put cows on stalks you get manure and they also work it into the ground

We graze the stalks and let them pass through the gut and back on the land. More nutrients available quicker for the next crop

I have a feedyard and I don’t farm a single acre…I get to bale the stalks for free but I spread the manure back on the farmers field…win/win

That is one of the hardest things to run through Baler besides for bean stubble and with what you’re losing it’s not worth it

Bale it, bed it, spread it back. Although I think the wear/tear on your baler might come into question?

Tropical farmer here. we dont do bailing. cows freely mows them, we got free manures from those cows. then we till and plant.
