Not math, but simple proportion. Use two measuring sticks each in proportion to the other. Sculptors have done this for ages.

... It's very cool, but I don't really understand the mystery. You don't need maths to do this, you just cut every measurement you make in half.

How would you be confused that they have the ability to build the wagons full size but you don't think they know how to build them half the size

We often make the mistake of considering ourselves “modern” when in reality we have been human all along.

I was obviously made by really skilled craftsmen. I bet they didn’t do math but rather went by feel and perception.

I always feel like I'm being deprived of Asian historical find/archeology. I know/see so much of Egypt/UK/Greek finds, but very little Asian focus

What do this about the theory's about the tomb containing rivers or Mercury? what do you think about the many Chinese pyramids that are not studied?

I could be done just by eye … my grandfather could specify road grading on curves by eye that were more acurate than the techs did (before computers)

If the craftsmen built the original, I don't see why they couldn't build a smaller version.

Are you talking volume or size? Size would be 'simplify shape to cuboid, half height, width depth'. Volume is more complex.
