@flywithhaylee: ‘Tis the season for DEICING! For those of you who don’t know, there are four different deicing fluids. Type I is a reddish orange color and typically used to get rid of ice. Type II is a clear or straw color for aircraft with takeoff speeds over 100kts. This one allows a shorter hold over time than Type IV. Type III is a yellow for aircraft rotating at 60 knots (your average trainers!). Type IV is a green fluid for aircraft above 100kts rotation but the longest holdover time (airliners typically use this one!) So today, we got Type I and IV deicing!
