personally leave everything handtight until last bolt is in, even wedge until all aligns before this.

I've just done this with my wheel studs...but I find the wheels keep wobbling ever few miles after retightening...

Spain a nut on Bolt use bench grinder. Grind to a point nut off👍🏻 I work on heavy plant so bolts are big 😀

Yeah mabye position the bracket correctly on the head and you will be fine. No need to fuck up the bracket and bolt to the DPF.
