@the_yaysayers: Day 17 of 25 in our Countdown to Christmas! I’m sharing 25 Days of Kid’s Crafts and Activities!! If that’s something that sounds interesting to you, follow and make them with us!!! 🫶 Today’s activity is an absolute classic!!! While we LOVE decorating real cookies, these may be just as fun (and honestly I think more affordable 😅) Supplies: 2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Salt 1 Cup Water (I used room temp) Measuring Spoons/Bowls Mixing utensils Sheet Pan Ribbon To decorate: paint, glue, rhinestones, homemade puffy paint, etc. Directions: 1. Mix 2 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. 2. Slowly stir to in approximately 1 cup of water. If your dough is crumbling, add a small amount of water. If it’s sticky, add in a small amount of flour. 3. Knead for several minutes. 4. Roll out on a floured surface. (If you notice it’s sticky you can need in a little more flour. Dough should be about 1/8” thick. 5. Use cookie cutters to cut ornaments. Add ribbon hole with pencil or skewer. 6. Bake at 250 degrees for approximately 2 hours. Dough should be completely hardened. *** You may choose to dry these overnight also!! And actually I may have preferred that method!) 7. Let cool. 8. Decorate!! The homemade puffy paint can also be found in our Countdown Day 1 activity - Cardboard Cookies!! 9. Once dry, add a ribbon and hang it on your tree! Additional uses: Add a ribbon and use as a gift tag (you can write on these!!) or don’t punch a hole and use them as cookies in pretend play! 10.
