Forcing people to study maths until 18 is insane. Those two years could be spent learning how to recognise abusive relationships or mortgages, finance and entrepreneurial skills.

my daughter, 10, frequently asks me 'why am I learning this?' not infrequently there is a reasonable answer to her reasonable question, but sometimes there's not. her frustration is often palpable.
