We adopted our baby girl in 2010. We didn't go through an agency. My husband at the time worked with the bio moms dad and we just got a lawyer.

It does not cost that much to vet adopted parents no reason for that cost except to line someone pocket. Law needs changed for sure

privately adopted both or girls 40.and 38 yrs ago. we paid medical. court and lawyer fees. I think 5k to 10k depending on bio moms needs

i gave up in open adoption an i remeber seeing the numbers and it was not cheap for those parents to get a baby. and they are always so greatful
