That should have been museum acrylic instead of glass. His pieces are pretty fragile since they’re on what amounts to poster board.

I don't know if this would work for your purposes, but fluffy bread is very good at picking up tiny shards of glass

Were you using Rodico? Watchmakers use it for the same purpose. Picks up debris without leaving residue.
