My late mom created this Loona Gosht recipe, and if I had to pick one dish that reminds me of her, this would be it. ❤️ Growing up, this was always the first meal we’d have on the first day of Bakra Eid. The smell of it cooking meant Eid had officially begun, and some of my most cherished memories are of all of us sitting together, enjoying this meal she made with so much love. I can make it now, but it still never tastes quite like hers. I don’t think it ever will. Maybe that’s because some recipes aren’t just about the ingredients—they carry the hands and heart of the person who made them. So many of you have asked me to share this recipe over the years, and today I’m finally sharing it with all of you. Ingredients: • 2 lbs mutton or beef • 10 cloves garlic • 1½ tsp salt • 3–4 cups water • 25 green chilies • 1 inch ginger • 2 tsp black pepper • 2 tbsp olive oil Method: 1. Add the meat, garlic, salt, and water to a large pot. 2. Cook over medium heat until the meat releases its own juices. 3. Once the meat is tender, increase the heat and cook off the excess liquid. 4. Add the green chilies, black pepper, and olive oil. Stir well. 5. Cover and simmer on low for 10–15 minutes. 6. Remove the lid and cook on high for a few minutes to lightly char the meat. 7. Garnish with extra green chilies and julienned ginger. Serve hot with naan or rice. Although I’m sharing this recipe here for free, it is one of the recipes from my cookbook. If you enjoy my recipes and would like to support my work, I’d truly appreciate it if you picked up a copy. Every purchase means more than you know. ❤️ And if you’re new here, follow @thebrowniesempire for more family recipes, stories, and flavors that keep our loved ones’ memories alive. #loonagosht #beefeecipes #meatrecipes #pakistanifood
