@emmafituk_: POV: christmas triggers your all or nothing mindset and you're worrying about binge eating 👇 💔 save this post for strategies (below) that I have used for myself & with clients to overcome this! Girls (and guys) I really want you to know you're not alone 🫶🏼 and it genuinely makes me so sad to think people are worrying about this and letting it consume their headspace when this time of year should be about making special memories, spending time with loved ones and looking forward to food-not fearing it!! I can completely relate if this video / scenario resonates with you- trust me I have been there! Where food feels like an addiction and certain foods have this control over you where you have one bite and it triggers a binge.. and then it reinforces in your head that you shouldn't ever eat these foods because you're scared it will happen again 🚫 I have spent many Christmas's being consumed by food fears and guilt. I spent one Christmas trying to macro-track (even on Xmas day)!! and I've had other Christmas periods where my previous disordered eating made me adopt the blowout binge mentality and I just binge ate to the point where I felt sick Please trust me when I say you don't have to be stuck in this cycle forever ♥️ here are just a few strategies that I have done for myself and my clients to stop this from happening: 🍫 allow yourself to eat these foods EVERY DAY. Until your brain recognises that there is no urgency and that it's actually more enjoyable to eat it in moderation every day instead of bingeing until you feel sick and then cutting it out again for a month. You absolutely must move away from restricting certain foods!! 🍫 normalise the foods you deem as "bad" - they're only bad if you attach this connotation to them as it creates a negative relationship with certain foods 🍫 try to rationalise and understand what happened-eating a handful of chocolates does not mean you've failed! Once you reinforce this and try to relax more around food this will help you falling into the all or nothing mindset If you need my help overcoming this, let me know your struggles through the link in my bio 🩷🫶🏼 #onlinecoach #emotionaleating #binge #bingeeating #bingeeatingrecovery #recoveryispossible #foodfreedom #healthyishappy #eatingdisorderawareness #eatingdisorderrecovery #emotionalregulation #selflovejourney #selflovetips #healing #HealingJourney #bingeeatingdisorderrecovery #overeating #selfsabotage #nutritioncoach #reelsexplore #chocolate #christmasseason
