@cleoabram: How loud is a sonic boom from a supersonic plane? 20 years ago, when the famous Concorde stopped flying, the answer was close to a balloon popping right next to you or just above nearby thunder. In other words… LOUD. But now NASA is building a new, hopefully much quieter supersonic plane. That matters, because sonic booms were a big part of why supersonic planes were banned over many countries - and why you can’t fly supersonic today.
