Same in TN ma'am/sir used for everyone even the animals. However the one that truly makes us feel old is getting Miss/Mr. First name by the young folk😂

In Michigan, “yes ma’am/sir” is RUDE but I’m in Georgia, and down here it’s the ‘proper way’ to address people. It’s CRAZY

my parents are from the southeast so i grew up saying maam and sir and the Looks i got when we moved to the pacific northwest when i was 10 😂 adults were always thrown by it

I’m from MA and while ma’am isn’t rly used here we know it’s just a normal politeness thing in the south. Maybe bc we don’t have our own norm for it?
