@stephvnietea: Spoiling my fam + friends with these crystal cuties and so should you! These are so fun to make 🥰 ➡️ Recipe: Edible Crystals (Kohakuto) Servings— 15-20 crystals - [ ] 1 cup cold water - [ ] 1 tbsp agar agar powder - [ ] 1.5 cups - [ ] Food coloring, gel for candy is preferred - [ ] Fruit extracts (I use Lorann’s) - [ ] Optional: Tart and sour enhancer (it’s a liquid ingredient used to enhance fruit flavors) - [ ] Optional: Edible gold powder 1. In a saucepan, pour in cold water and sprinkle agar agar powder over the top. Let it set for 20 minutes. 2. Turn the stove on to medium heat and simmer water/agar until it starts to bubble. Continuously stirring so agar doesn’t burn. 3. Add sugar and stir until it turns into a syrup or for 30 mins. Cool for 15 mins. 4. Pour in glass containers. 5. Flavor with extracts and mix well. A few drops goes a long way so taste as you go. 6. Use a few drops of food coloring and gently swirl to create marbled look. 7. Set for 4-5 hours and room temp or until completely solidified. 8. Cut and trim to desired shapes and sizes. Keep left over crystals trimmings to form crystal decorative pieces on bigger pieces. 9. Leave out in room temp for 5-7 days to dry and crystallize and to give its signature crunch. (Using a dehydrator works even faster. Air fryers also have settings for dehydration as well. Use at the lowest settings for at least 5-7 hours. 10. Optional: brush edible gold powder on with water. 11. Package if gifting or enjoy as is! (This is the amount I used to make 5 different flavors) Servings— 100+ crystals - [ ] 5 cups water - [ ] 4 tbsp agar agar powder - [ ] 7.5 cup sugar #ediblecrystals #crystalcandy #kohakutou #EasyRecipe #recipes
