Here's why you’re still at the wall in your inversions (and what to do instead!) 👇 If you’re working on Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana), Forearm Stand (Pincha Mayurasana), or Headstand (Shirshasana), and your practice looks a little something like: ➡ Kicking up, landing your feet on the wall (not so gracefully) ➡ Peeling your feet off the wall ➡ Hoping for a second of balance ...you’re actually teaching your body that it needs the wall to balance. But if you want to eventually snap that epic sunset handstand pic, you need to be able to catch yourself without relying on the wall. Taking your inversions away from the wall requires the right technique, a whole lotta trust, and knowing EXACTLY what to do with your body (like using your fingers as your brakes). Here are two simple yet effective drills I teach my students inside Yogi Flight School that help students build confidence upside down FAST: ➡Kick to the wall, barely kiss it with your toes, and come back down (the lighter your tap, the better). ➡ The Wall is Lava.” Can you kick up and NOT touch the wall? (If you tap, you lose. Try again!) Middle-of-the-room balance doesn't happen by accident. It's built intentionally, and it happens faster than you think with the right tools and mindset.
