Alright for those who don’t understand!!! Gonna do a TLDR, basically Rei and angel got fused, so technically a spawn of Adam! Now, shinji and Eva 1 are NOT spawns of Adam, they are both spawns of Lilith, two separate angels! Each angel is supposed to go to a separate planet. In this case, they didn’t! In the case that they go to the same planet, a evolutionary race will start, the stronger of the two angel spawns will survive, ascend to godhood, and start a impact, effectively killing all life on that planet and forcing that new godly life form to move on and find another planet! Though the last 3 impacts in the anime had failed since the issues with Lilith and Adam spawns compatibility. Lilins/lilith spawn have the blessing of knowledge, and humanity, Adam spawn have the blessing of strength/power. The Lilith spawns knowledge is what causes the impacts to fail, since the human will actively fights back to preserve the rest of their species!
