@loren_legarda: As we commemorate Dr. Jose Rizal’s 127th death anniversary today, let me share with you the documentary ‘Finding Rizal in a Time of Barriers,’ a project that I worked on during the pandemic in 2021. The film tells the story of our national hero’s first trip to Europe, during which he faced many challenges. Rizal persevered and became one of the most important figures in Philippine history. I thought of supporting this project after my tour of Heidelberg and Wilhelmsfeld in 2019, where I met Dr. Fritz Hack Ullmer, the great-grandson of Pastor Karl Ullmer, who hosted Rizal for three months in Wilhelmsfeld.
