@airedition: I think I may have stumbled across one of the best economy seats anywhere. It’s up in the forward part of the lower deck on Etihad’s A380, seat 47K. This is an Economy Space seat so you get extra room, plus it’s in the last row of the cabin so no chance of anyone kicking your seat or using it as a handle to pull themselves up. But on top of that this seat is in front of the wing, in just about the perfect spot to gaze out at these massive engines and wing. Takeoff from this angle is just stunning. And being forward of the wing it’s quieter and smoother in cruise than back behind the wing.
