@followmetothemouse: I couldn’t find the exact quote but it was along these lines. Long term memory can be preserved when short term memory is significantly affected. I am so grateful that B and I share so much long term memory together so we can talk about things from our past and connect through the time capsule she share💚 #tbi #tbicaregiver #tbisurvivor #tbieducation #memory #familyyouchoose #chosenfamily #chosenfamily💚 #slp #slpsoftiktok #medicalslp #medicalslplife
As someone who was fortunate to recover almost fully from a tbi I completely understand you.

Had a nonverbal dementia pt once. If you sat her at a piano, she would play and sing so many different songs from memory. The human brain and how it works is so amazing.

I love this video. I have a lady I cared for for years that has dementia and the same things can apply. She loves music and I love Lucy . She is one of my favorite people in the world.

Music is stored in a separate part of the brain. It's good for dementia patients too. 🥰

My question is can he tell you how he feels about all this? If he can’t talk can he type it out or even just answer yes/no questions. Has he ever been asked if it kills him to see you with your hubby?
