& legally the service charge doesn't need to go to servers. where I worked it went straight to the owner and it was 12% or smth of each bill 🙃

Don't pay service charge, I pay a cash tip. Always ask if its actually going towards the employees BC sometimes it just goes straight to management

at the restaurant I work in, the service charge is added to our payslip and it goes to everyone including kitchen and managers who provide a service, just indirectly
