@brutamerica: After about 95 years of being under Disney’s copyright, Mickey Mouse, as the character appeared in the 1928 short film, “Steamboat Willie,” was released in the public domain on January 1, 2024. What that could mean is that the character can be reimagined by other creators now that its Disney copyright has expired. Taking advantage of the character’s popularity, filmmaker Jamie Bailey has released the trailer for his new film, “Mickey’s Mouse Trap,” which will see the beloved children’s character in a horror comedy. The film shows someone wearing a mask the famous mouse terrorizing a group of friends at a party.
