@instonefossils: I know we show a lot of really nice specimens that are recovered from our digging season here in Wyoming. A fun fact is that only 20% of what we Discover within our formation are prestine! The other 80% are what you see on the bottom row. Traditionally, these would be "colored" or "enhanced" to meet high consumer market demand. We understand that not everything in life is perfect. We make them available just the way they are naturally on our website. Link in the bio 👆 The reason why: When you split the layer, sometimes the fish delaminates, splitting it on both sides of the calcium carbonate matrix. And if you get lucky, it all pulls to one side, and you get a prestine specimen. And if it's slightly under the rock, you get the pleasure of doing preparation work on the specimen, and even then, sometimes they are not spectacular. Thanks, everyone, for following. we will be going to Tucson in less than three weeks. If you are looking for something unique, don't hesitate to let us know. Is it expensive to buy the tools required to prep these things ? And is it difficult to complete ? Sorry for all the questions I’m just really getting into this stuff now
