@sooziethefoodie: True life I love beef tongue! I first tried it in tacos (lengua) and I have loved cooking with it ever since. Beef tongue is surprisingly really easy to make it just takes a little bit of time! Tonight I really wanted to try and make the beef tongue look pretty! The first step is to wash off the tongue. I like to toast my herbs/ aromatics before adding in water but that’s just my preference. For seasonings I used bay leaves, garlic leaves, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and peppercorns. I added the tongue in when the water was still cold then brought to a boil and slow simmered covered for 4 hours. I next. Hopped up celery root and boiled it in that leftover broth to make mashed celery root! Once the tongue had cooled off I had to do the not so glamorous task of removing the outer layer. When beef tongue is cooked properly that should come right off and leave you with meat that’s tender, juicy, and will legit melt in your mouth! I cut the tongue into squares then pan fried it in salted butter, garlic, and rosemary! I am so stoked with how this turned out. I was feeling a little bit extra tonight so I added some purple rock salt on top 😍 #beeftongue #lengua #celeryroot
