I also think many parents treat their kids as older & encourage them with the relationships, etc. I feel they think it makes their kid in the “cool” kid group.

YES. i think it’s mostly television. Especially post pandemic. My almost 13 year old hadn’t been in a classroom with other kids since she was 10. All she’s seen is how kids act on tv not in real life

I think the "tween" TV I had was more relatable to my experience. Lizzie McGuire wasn't a sassy ahole. she had crushes but it was age appropriate

my son is 11(12 in March) and still plays with toys,no tablet or phone, monitored video games if we decide to allow it occasionally. he rather plays outside and with toys.
