I dont think they are weak spots. Since they are interlocked so its actually tighter spot not weak. I interlock; for 2 1/2 years and only do it between every 3-4 months depending. No issues at all.

I Interlocking is definitely more for smaller locs such as sisterlocks and micro locks

I have sisterlocks now but my last round of locs were about your size and I had them for ~12 years. Interlocked the last 7 no issues in weakness or size continuity
