All the top tips for booking a train in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 1. Book as far in advance as you can!! These trains are a regular commute for locals getting around Uzbekistan, meaning they can fill up quickly. Don’t leave it until later — just book it! 2. You can buy tickets on the website or the app — both of which can be extremely annoying to navigate or actually get to work. Just keep refreshing and trying again, or use 12Go Asia. 3. The bottom bed is by far the best choice! The top bunk is smaller, has less storage space, and can be difficult to get up to. It also means you can sit up on the bottom bed and use the table. One of our trains only had chargers on the bottom bunks, too. 4. Bring lots of snacks! Food can be served on the trains and it’s actually pretty good. However, sometimes the kitchen isn’t operating, which isn’t ideal for those long-haul rides. 5. Don’t expect icy-cold air con — it’s just not going to happen. It turns off at each stop and the rooms heat up quickly. Then, it can take an hour or two just to cool them down again. 6. Expect some friendly neighbours! Although we didn’t experience this ourselves, we spoke with others who had. Some elderly people or families may have booked the top bunk but will sit and relax on the bottom bed to avoid going up and down. Uzbekistan has amazing hospitality, so why not show it back in return? Let them sit, share a drink or some food with them — because that is what travelling is all about, right? 🇺🇿❤️ We’ll be sharing even more Stan content over on @maddieandluke_travels ☺️
