That is correct. It’s how I do it. Try closing the racket fully first that way you don’t have to loop back but you get the same result.

while this way is handy while tightening, I find it a nuisance taking it off, I prefer to do it the other way

Before putting the strap through, ratch the handle a bit, so the opening is turned a bit. Then you dont have to put it through and back👌

in nz that style of strap is illegal. it must have the ring on other side of the hook so that even if the strap comes lose the hooks won't come off

It’s ok straps to the chassis but if the tyres let lose thier gone and probably the load

Correct way if going off the chassis wrong way if you can’t get to the chassis and have to go off the side of the trailer

Nothing wrong with using the Chime of the trailer that's what it's for...only go onto the chassis as you can get a better pull...
