The calves are no different.  The mistake most people make is they train calves at the frequency they do other muscle groups or simply put them at the end of Leg Day, then blame genetics.  Calves need to be trained at an INSANE LEVEL.  You have been walking around on them since you could walk.  So for growth you have to destroy them and do it from different angles.  I'm demonstrating standing double leg calve raises.  You can do this single leg, seated, leg press calves, or any other calf exercise.  THE ANGLES  1. Start with regular calves toes point forward. 2. Turn heels in and toes out 3. Turn heels out and toes in THE EXERCISES 1. Standing Calves 2. Seated Calves 3. Leg Press Calves  THE FREQUENCY AND REP RANGE This varies, but I typically train calves 3 to 4 days a week for 30 minutes. Absolutely Destorying Them.  Rep range from 10 to 100, dropsets, supersets.. throw the kitchen sink at them.  Remember.. if you were not born with big calves ( I wasnt) then it would take serious time and discipline to build them but totally worth it.  I awesome set of calves gets far more respect than big arms or a big chest.
