I bought a ball for my lab one of the tiny spiked ones that squeaks and she didt want anything to do with it until about 6-7 months and after that omg

Try a tug rope, throw the ball, praise when he picks it up, when he gives you the ball he can play tug

I'm assuming the rock obsession is a lab thing 😂 I got a lab Newfie mix as my first dog, she'll be 2 next month, and I still find rocks in the house and in my bed 🤦

Works out when you train for a recover or return command i use "come" i randomly use the command and shes rewarded great for off leash too!

You have to get really excited when they run to the ball and then call them back the same way. Our 3 Month old learned how to case a ball this way

Because you went to him. I clap and getting excited when he grabs it, and if he doesn’t bring it back, game over, no attention…took a week to teach fetch…5th lab for me
