Was the company DFS? 😅 I don't think anyone has bought a sofa for full price in the history of the world

Plenty of companies up their prices knowing full well they will be ‘discounting’ them in the near future

This happens with Black Friday (BF). We’d price up up in two waves during the year, the last just b4 BF.

what annoys me is the 2 for 1 "deals". if I only want 1, why can't I have it at half price?

The impression of a deal without losing margin, Necta Price, Clubcard Price is exactly this. The members price is the actual price, ticket = inflated

what if you just put "50% extra" in the style of a discount label but omit the word free.

Tesco do it all the time. 2lt Pepsi use to flip every 2 months between 99p each to £1.99 (buy one get one free).

Lol like supermarkets at the moment, “loyalty price” is actual price, inflated to “normal price” if you dont have your card

You would have to put up the price 100% to give 50% off.

Yeah saw similar things. Also probably a bit mitigated by stores listing per oz price 😁

I see this sort of thing a lot. Chocolate fingers at Tesco the other day- per gram the normal packs are cheaper than family pack. Makes no sense

I once saw a kids' comic that had two formats. pricing along the lines of £3 for the comic or £5.99 with a "free gift". I couldn't believe people would fall for it but they must've done.

Illegal? Tesco do it all the time! They massively increase their rrp in order to offer a 'discount' for club card members.
