@catchingmadesimple: You won’t have as many tag plays as you will ground balls or blocks. But when you do have them, they’re make or break situations. So you need to know how to do them. SS and C have many similarities with tag plays (another reason SS make great C) Some key principles: 1. Let the ball travel. The ball moves faster than your hand 2. Swipe, don’t guess (just make sure not to swipe too soon) 3. Position your feet right. At C your left foot should be on the corner and pointing to 3B 4. Left knee down at C (don’t do as much at SS bc of the runner’s spikes!) Take care of the details and the details will take care of you!
