couldn’t you not traveled outwards and followed the rest to the jet skis even tho where was a big wave coming towards you. You could have made it with a hard landing on the other side and even if you wiped out he would have been safe and could have got back on his ski. I’ve been in situations like that when surfing and got bashed up rocks it’s scary
