These 2018-2020 5.0s are one giant design flaw. It’s a shame because 2011-2017 5.0s are one of the most reliable trucks

So change the dip sticks will stop this. So put a longer dipstick so people think it’s still full of oil. I don’t think so.

My dad has a 2020 5.0 with 38k miles that sounds like a typewriter. According to Ford, it’s normal.

I see why people are going back to 90s and 2000s vehicles because that’s when vehicles were still made good

🙏🏻Chrysler 2.4 has the exact same issue. Correction. Replace engine with updated rings

This doesn’t even add up. The high manifold vacuum pulls oil through the rings but not the PCV system? Not adding up, low tention rings are causing1/2

They do all that before they replace they replace the engine. They will replace the engine eventually because none of those fix it. Been there.

must be like the Mopar multi air updates. it adds a small amount of fuel even on decel to bump the cylinder pressure stops oil pulling past rings.

What exactly does the update do to change the vacuum. Maybe through the timing to keep the valve open longer?

eagletrouser :
it doesn't fix it. will still consume oil at a higher than normal rate creating misfires.
