Ottoman was a dynastic language spoken only by the royalty and high ranking people of the empire to make a distinction from the common population. Modern day Turkish comes from kaba turkce not Ottoman Turkish

evet bir yere kadar hakli ama osmanli çok geniş bir dil idi bir söz için rahat 5 farkli söyleyebileceğin sözler vardi hepsi de birbirinden farklıydı(kendim baya bi araştırıp osmanli ca öğrendim)

Atatürk did not reform the language just because to fit European standards, he did it so Turkish could be more easier to learn and understand. The literacy rate of the Ottoman Empire was very low and it increased after the reform
