@adoureink: One thing I’m focusing on more this year is taking a real break from work when I’m not working, simple but not easy 😆😅. I grew up in San Diego, went to SDSU for my marketing degree and then went straight to traveling as a makeup artist for a decade. San Diego is home but it didn’t feel that way because it looks way different when I’d go around in my twenties versus my thirties. And the first 5 years of having my business I didn’t feel comfortable taking time off so I stayed pretty deep into making sure my business didn’t fail. With being a dog mom I’ve committed to exploring parks and coffee shops and what I got out of it is that I Love San Diego! There’s so many beautiful gems and it’s so easy to communicate from one town to another. And ultimately what it has done for me as an artist and entrepreneur is stay inspired, motivated and grateful for what I do. Burn outs are real and so painful when you realize it’s too late and you’re burnt out! I totally get it and have been through many! If you’re going through a stressful time in your life, I’m here to remind you that it’s okay to give yourself permission to pause, breathe and step away just for a moment and give yourself some TLC. Everyday that looks different for me. But what I committed was to wake up at 5am everyday to give myself what I need and that’s physical exercise and sunshine before I give to the world. 👉🏼 If nothing changes, nothing changes.
