I will say if your gonna use dental floss it will be hard to thread a needle, look for a darning needle! they have a bigger eye but are still sharp, the blunted ones are used for yarn carfts.

wax your denim to make it last longer (literally just rub a candle or something and then melt w/ hairdryer) also makes them more waterproof

Don’t use spikes use studs . Spikes fall out easy the press studs are awful . Get prong cones

u can make a holepuncher for the prong studs from two exactoblades(?) and a dead/empty sharpie, or any pen with half an inch diameter and tape

I've found that pliers are best because you can curl the prongs inward so they stay stronger and won't catch and rip your clothes underneath
