@strangeology: Tennessee has some strange tales, but maybe none stranger, or more terrifying than that of the White Bluff Screamer. Legends of Banshee-like beings have been around for generations in Ireland, and with a large population of Irish people settling in this region of Appalachia, perhaps something came along with them. Over the years since, some have claimed to have heard the Screamer, or had run-ins with something that was Rake/Pale Crawler like, or even Bigfoot like in the wilderness around White Bluff that they believed to be this thing. Ultimately its hard to verify these claims or if the story of this farm family meeting a grisly end is even true at all.
