In the right setting its ideal. Went to a busy airport bar, ordered food and drink via QR code, and it arrived shortly after. No need to wait for staff to take orders etc

I think it’s dumb for an upscale or sit down place where the pageantry is important but where efficiently matters they are great. Cafes, pubs etc

Is the world becoming more or less digital? Of course, I am biased as a QR menu provider and know that this will not work in every establishment. But many restaurants or bars do save time and money.

If you’re going w a bunch of friends though it avoids the awkward and time-consuming splitting costs at the end! It’s also easy for places to show what items are sold out 🤷🏼♂️

In Japan where I live there is a photo of almost every menu option you can get here. When I was learning Japanese from zero it was so useful, it allows you to see exactly what you are getting!

It’s the first intro to the restaurant and you make judgments. Are they old & dog eared, do they contain pictures, how long ago was the menu changed etc
