ya would of never drilled into the tank like that and would of ran the wires through some nylon air line and the fuel pump needs to be at a 45 degree angle

That green fuel line will fail , your best bet is to swap it for the hard nylon type

Diesel heaters come stock in European trucks, they're called Webasto heating

most trucks burn about 1 or 2 gallons an hour. When I was OTR mine burned about 1.3 an hour. But yeah diesel heaters are a wallet saver for sure.
