my grandfather had 4 kids. the oldest, my uncle never came to see him at the hospital so my grandpa said, "Don't bother telling him I died" so we didn't tell him 🤷🏼♀️

I have a similar experience. My grandmother also had 6 children and only 1 stayed relevant in her life and that was my mom.
